Announcement
|
of
the "Grateful Children"
in the Forthcoming Month of May |
The Catholic Sub-committee for
the Elderly organized its No. 2/2549 meeting on 27 February, chaired
by Rev. Viroj Nandhajinda, to prepare the day of 'grateful children'
at the national level and also to plan activities for the elderly
at the diocesan level.
|
It
was learned that there is a plan to organize the elderly movement
in the diocese of Suratthani and that there is a renewal of this same
movement in the diocese of Nakhon Ratchasim. The aim has been to have
this movement at least in 2 parishes of each diocese.
The sub-committee has sent out survey forms to every diocese and it
is requested that the filled forms be sent back to the sub-committee
within the month of September for further compilation. |
As
for selection of the 'grateful children', representatives of the various
dioceses are in the process of selecting the 11 candidates. |
The
official ceremony of handing out certificates for the 'grateful children'
is set for the 27th May 2549 at St. Peter's Church, Samphran at the
National Day of the Elderly Celebration. H.E. Bishop Panya Kritcharoen
will preside over the Mass and the certificate distribution ceremony.
The Papal blessing certificate will also be given to every 'grateful
child'. |
Biography of each
grateful child is being compiled by Rev. Pramote Nilpetch to be forwarded
to Most Rev. Bishop Panya. The meeting also prepared agenda for the
celebration and coordinating works. |
On this auspicious occasion
all the Christians are invited to give thanks to God and join in the
celebration to congratulate those who have constantly shown their
love and service to their elderly parents.
